Sailors are a very social bunch and TISC members are no exception. Each year we have a number of events that the Executive has budgeted for. Volunteers, you, help out with the planning and/or execution of these events. But we're not limited to just these events. Each year a number of members create an impromptu BBQ and invite members down to the club to partake.

None of these events happen without YOU!

Let us know if you're interested in helping out with BBQing, race committee, decorating, music, gardening, anything!

Open House, New Member Orientation & Siobhan's Pop up Shop: Saturday May 5th from 4:00 pm

  • Catch the 4:00PM tender to the island and we'll give you a guided tour of the club, the grounds, the boats, and walk you through the ins-and-outs of your first season. We'll answer questions about our 3 social sailing nights, racing, how to rig an Albacore, CANSail lessons in June & July, and all other things TISC related. We'll wrap things up around 5:30PM - just in-time to bring the party over to the Firkin on Harbour for the Launch of the Season Party with the rest of the TISC crew for some food, bevies and a great silent auction, so bring some cash. This event is free to new members ($15 for returning members/ $20 at the door), so register for Launch the Season as well.

Launch of the Season Party & Silent Auction: Saturday May 5th.
  • New and returning members get to mix and mingle for the first time this season. This is the perfect opportunity to meet people whom you’ll see around the club all season. TISC's silent auction raises money to offset the costs of running the club - so bring lots of money! This year we have Skippers offering one-on-one private lessons, restaurant gift certificates, books on sailing, a Salus PFD, tours & tasting at Steam Whistle Brewery and a fantastic sailing trip!

Toronto Island Sailing Club Regatta: Saturday June 23rd
  • This is our biggest event of the year. During the day TISC will host a day of races for some of the best Albacore racers in the world. TISC volunteers (you) are asked to help on the Race Committee or help with the dinner preparations. Once the races are finished (around 4ish), sailors and friends meet at the club for the awards ceremony, BBQ dinner and live music.
Theme nights ~ social sail nights
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is our social sail nights. Occasionally a themed dinner will be announced. You will be asked to bring an appetizer or dessert that goes with the theme (I.e.: Greek or Italian). After an evening of sailing we'll get the BBQ going and enjoy the themed pot luck dinner.
Canada Day - July 1st
  • This is a great opportunity for non-racers to get out on the water with more experienced sailors they might not have had a chance to, until now.
Feeling Knotty?     ...Helms on-land testing/clinic: Saturday August 25th.
  • Part of the Helms testing process is to show your examiner that you know how to tie your knots, how to throw a line, answer questions on safety, etc. This year we're putting on an afternoon clinic where you can sign up in advance. Skippers and Racing Skippers are asked to volunteer there time to test the Helms.
Commodore’s Ball / End of Season Party: November 10th.
  • Each year we get together to celebrate the end of the season with fine food, racing awards, a slideshow of the season highlights, the 2019 Executive is introduced, and fond stories of a summer well-spent and the anticipation of next season. Dress code, business casual.

Note; dates and times may change. Check our event calendar for the most up to date listings.
